State Government

MMARS has been providing quality case management services for over 20 years. Although Medical Management and Rehabilitation Services (MMARS) has been primarily focused on case management in the State of Maryland, we have also provided this service in other states. MMARS currently has two contracts with the State of Maryland; the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Community First Choice (CFC). We work to protect the interest of the State of Maryland and to coordinate the care of the people we serve.

Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)

The Developmental Disabilities Administration dedicates themselves to ensure people with developmental disabilities live fulfilling lives in the community of their choice. They work to create a flexible, person centered family-oriented system of support so that people with developmental disabilities are able to live full lives.

The DDA focuses on five main areas:

  • Employment
  • Self-Determination
  • Self-Advocacy
  • Independent Living
  • Supporting Families

Medical Management and Rehabilitation Services partners with the DDA as Care Coordinators to provide cost-effective, quality healthcare management services to their participants. We combine our values and tactics with DDA’s to coordinate health care services that are specific to the needs of each individual. We value the participants involvement in this process, including them when making health-related decisions and encouraging them to become active participants in their treatment plan. We are an independently owned company, meaning we have no affiliation with a specific insurer or provider network, so we are here to work for you.

Community First Choice (CFC)

Community First Choice is the newest Maryland Medicaid program option made possible by the Affordable Care Act. Community First Choice provides aid to elderly and disabled residents who would otherwise need to be cared for in an assisted living facility. The primary focus of this program is to provide personal assistance with basic and instrumental activities of daily living (i.e dressing, bathing, transportation, meal prep). The best part about Community First Choice is that there are no limits on the number of eligible people that can enroll at one time, so anyone qualified can receive services. This program also gives participants the option to hire their family members to care for them, allowing them to be cared for in the comfort of their homes.

Medical Management and Rehabilitation Services understands how complex the Medicaid process can be. We work with the CFC as Support Planners to coordinate and maintain the best healthcare services to those in need.
